Position: Registered Nurse - Maternal Child Health

The Registered Nurse on Maternal Child Health is responsible for providing direct patient care to a designated group of patients within the Maternal Child Health department. This role will involve collaboration with unit leadership to adhere to the scope of practice outlined by relevant nursing governing bodies, including AWONN, ACOG, NNA, and AORN.

Key Responsibilities:

• Observe, collect data, and assess patients' physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care tailored to patient requirements.
• Work cooperatively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

• Education: Minimum of an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing.
• Certifications:
  • BLS certification upon hire.
  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within six months of hire.
• Experience: Preferred experience with knowledge of post-partum care.
• Licensure: Current New York State Registered Nurse license.

Physical Requirements:

• Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., computer keyboard usage).
• Light lifting associated with patient care activities.
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods in relation to patient care duties.
• Must be physically capable of operating the equipment required for the role.
