Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Catheterization Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cath Lab team. This position is a day shift role, requiring a commitment to three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care within Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Labs.
• Assist in various cardiac procedures, including but not limited to cardiac stent placements, catheterizations, and advanced device placements.
• Monitor patients during and after procedures, ensuring safe recovery and comfort.
• Maintain a sterile environment while scrubbing for procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive cardiac care.
• Utilize hospital documentation and communication systems effectively.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including a year of critical care experience and 2 years specifically in a Cath Lab setting.
• Active ACLS and BLS certifications are preferred.
• Hands-on experience with cardiac cath lab procedures such as IABP placement, Impella insertion, and ventricular assist device insertion.
• Proficient in obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG and performing cardioversion.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This role will take place in a state-of-the-art Cath Lab, which includes three dedicated procedure rooms and one hybrid operating room. The nursing team will consist of a collaborative group of RNs and Technicians.

Patient Demographics

The patient age groups served includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with a focus on conditions such as heart block, coronary artery disease (CAD), congestive heart failure (CHF), and tachycardia.

Team Dynamics

The Cath Lab operates with a 4-man team comprising 2 RNs and 2 Technicians, ensuring effective teamwork and high-quality patient care.

Location

This position is located in a dynamic healthcare facility in Seattle, WA.

Additional Details

• Must have scrub experience and be comfortable with all procedural responsibilities.
• Weekend shifts typically involve on-call responsibilities, requiring a response time of 30 minutes.
• Familiarity with the medication system (Pyxis) and documentation systems (EPIC, McKesson) is advantageous.
