Position: Cardiac Catheterization Technologist (Cath Lab Tech)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Catheterization Technologist (Cath Lab Tech) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.

Job Requirements

• 2 years of experience in a Cath Lab setting
• Experience with a patient ratio of 1:1
• Familiarity with charting systems, preferably Epic

Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - Preferred
• CCI RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) - Preferred

Skills

Required skills include:

• Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterizations
• Interventional Cardiac Catheterization
• Cardiac Stent Placement
• IABP Placement and Removal
• Impella Insertion
• Left and Right Heart Catheterization
• Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
• Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
• Temporary Pacemaker Management
• Ventricular Assist Device Insertion
• Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias

Preferred skills include:

• Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
• Pulmonary Artery (PA) Line Insertion
• Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
• Watchman Procedures

Equipment and Responsibilities

• Proficient in using Fluoroscopy and Siemens equipment
• Responsibilities include accurate monitoring, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, and access site preparation
• Maintain a sterile field while serving as a room circulator and scrub tech

Unit Details

• 4 total procedures rooms, including 3 cath labs and 1 hybrid OR
• Daily census of approximately 17 patients
• Interdisciplinary support from Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and more

Work Schedule

Weekends are typically required on a 1:4 ratio, with a standard expectation of one weekend shift every six weeks.

Orientation

36 hours of orientation will be provided upon beginning the position.

Patient Demographics

This role will primarily involve working with adult and geriatric patients.
