Position Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This includes planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on individual patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and establish priorities for care through thorough assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate personalized care plans for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiate assessments based on patients' problems, physician diagnoses, and functional health frameworks.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage overall patient care.
• Document patient care in accordance with established standards and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice standards and support the adoption of innovative care delivery methods.
• Provide patient-centric care that aligns with professional nursing practice models.
• Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an acute adult oncology setting, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma within an inpatient environment.

Education Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Certifications & Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license is required.
• Telemetry certification is preferred.
• Chemotherapy Certification from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) is preferred.

Schedule Details

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required, and three observed holidays annually. Float requirement is included with this position.
