Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at our Heart Hospital located in Dallas, TX. This position involves working night shifts on a 4x12-hour schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting.
• Monitor and record patient vital signs and health information.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Manage and care for patients with cardiovascular conditions and related diagnoses.
• Perform patient assessments and develop care plans based on individual patient needs.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and infection control practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing, preferably with cardiovascular experience; will consider candidates with 1+ years of experience.
• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are preferred.
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, IV therapy, and phlebotomy.
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Knowledge of post-cardiac procedures and related protocols.

• Patient Age Groups: Adults and Geriatrics
• Daily Census: 38 patients
• Number of Beds: 55
• Patient Ratios: Nights 1:5, Days 1:5, Weekends 1:5

Work Environment

The PCU provides care for patients with various cardiovascular conditions, such as congestive heart failure and acute myocardial infarction. Staff will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the best patient outcomes.
