Position: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Labor and Delivery to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will follow AWHONN Standards, provide high-quality care to expectant mothers, and support newborns in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Details

This unit specializes in high-risk perinatal care and includes:

• 19 labor and delivery beds
• 10 antepartum beds
• 30 postpartum beds
• 3 operating rooms
• 2 PACU beds
• 7-bay triage area

Shift Information

• Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (06:30 - 19:00)
• Float Required: Yes - to Postpartum
• Weekends Required: Yes
• Call Required: No

Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess the following:

• 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
• Certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring (required)

Skills

The following skills are preferred:

• IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Administration of blood and blood products
• Labor and Delivery Management
• Neonatal care and resuscitation
• Postpartum care and management

Roles and Responsibilities

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse will:

• Provide care and support to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
• Conduct assessments and interventions for both mother and newborn
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Epic charting system
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and perform necessary interventions as needed

Professional Environment

The unit has an average daily census that includes:

• 13 labors
• 20 postpartum patients
• 5 antepartum patients

Support staff includes respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy to facilitate optimal patient care.

Location

This position is located in a Level II Trauma Center in the city of Pacific, WA.

Orientation and Time Off

Orientation hours: 40. Pre-approved time off: 1 request available per contract.
