Position: Registered Nurse - MS/Tele

Overview

Seeking a dedicated and motivated Registered Nurse for a 36-bed Medical-Surgical Oncology unit. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a willingness to learn and grow their nursing practice.

Shift Information

• Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
• Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Block Schedules: No

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.
• At least 1 year of current specialty experience required within the last 3 years for clinical pass.
• Oncology experience preferred but not required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Certifications: BLS required.

Skills

• IV therapy/Phlebotomy
• Accessing and managing ports
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Oncology administration of chemotherapy preferred
• Respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management
• Chest tube management
• Tracheostomy care
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Telemetry monitoring

Work Settings

Primarily serving adult and geriatric patients with a daily census of 36. Common diagnoses include:

• Breast Cancer
• Lung Cancer
• Prostate Cancer
• Pancreatic Cancer
• Colon Cancer
• Esophageal Cancer
• Sickle Cell Crises
• Infusion related to antineoplastic chemotherapy

Special Procedures and Unit Details

This unit specializes in:

• Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration.
• Symptom management for malignancies and disease-related treatments.
• Management of comorbidities with a focus on infection prevention and patient safety.

Additional Information

• Float required to other MedSurg Oncology units based on departmental needs.
• Orientation hours: 72.
• Patient ratios: 1:4.
• Pre-approved time off: 1 request.

• GE telemetry monitors
• Bladder Scanner
• Alaris pumps
• Stryker beds
