Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse

Shift Details

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (Minimum of EOW)

Experience Required

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
Travel experience is required
Teaching hospital experience is required

Certifications

BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS – Required

Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency with EPIC – Required
IV therapy experience
Telemetry and ventilator management experience
Willingness to float to diverse ICU units based on staffing and patient acuity, including:
- Neuro ICU
- Surgical ICUs
- Medical ICUs (MICU x2)
- Cardiology/Diagnostics
- CVICU
- SICU / MICU / NCCU

Float to all ICUs, including:

Neuro ICU
Surgical ICUs
Medical ICUs
Cardiology/Diagnostics

Special Procedures and Equipment

Responsibilities may include:

Transplant patients (Kidney, Liver, Lung, Heart)
External ventricular drain (EVD)
Chest tube insertion/removal assistance
Management of high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, and CPAP
Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
Ventilator management

Orientation Hours

36 hours of orientation will be provided.
