Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Operating Room (OR) to provide exceptional patient care during surgical procedures. This role is essential in assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care for patients before, during, and after surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments.
• Create and maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient education.
• Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical process.
• Integrate and coordinate patient care throughout the surgical care continuum.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of current Operating Room experience.
• Float experience to vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotic surgery, urology, and ENT.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience in both scrub and circulating roles.
• Must possess a valid New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate.
• Candidates must have access to a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Patient Population:

Pediatric to adult.

Operating Room Details:

• Total of 14 operating rooms, including coverage for Labor & Delivery.
• Offering care in all surgical specialties, except cardiac and ophthalmology.
Average of 50 procedures performed daily.

Additional Information:

This position does not require weekend work and includes a minimum on-call requirement of once per month, if needed. Non-billable orientation will be provided for successful candidates.

COVID vaccinations are encouraged but not mandatory. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed de-escalation training from approved providers.
