Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the evaluation and administration of Radiology procedures, equipment, and staff are executed in a manner that is accurate, timely, responsive, and reliable. The role serves a wide range of customers including employees, medical staff, patients, and regulatory agencies, with a primary focus on activities that directly enhance customer service.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine portable and fluoroscopic procedures, along with operating room procedures, as requested by referring physicians, ensuring thorough documentation on requisitions.
• Establish effective communication with referring physicians, radiologists, ancillary departments, and customers to ensure quality patient care.
• Adhere to safety procedures and comply with radiation safety practices in accordance with ALARA principles.
• Demonstrate familiarity with UHS information service systems.
• Provide patient education and maintain comprehensive documentation to enhance the quality of care for all patient needs.
• Follow accepted clinical principles, methods, and procedures while performing or supervising imaging and radiologic diagnostic procedures.
• Comply with hospital policies and procedures related to incident reporting.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Education

Required Education

Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology.

Certifications & Licensure

Required Certifications & Licensure

• NYS Radiology Technologist license
• ARRT(R) Certification
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)

Schedule Notes

The position requires proficiency in the operating room and experience in a Level 1 or 2 Trauma Hospital. The schedule consists of five 8-hour shifts from 15:00 to 23:30, including a rotation every third weekend. Call time will be required during weekend rotations.
