Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care for young adult, adult, and elderly patients in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role involves pre and post-procedural responsibilities related to various interventional and electrophysiology procedures, as well as specialized patient care.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Pre/Post Area Responsibilities:

• Assess and reassess patients, applying the nursing process effectively.
• Demonstrate basic competency in specialized procedures and equipment, including:
• Cardiac Monitoring
• Care and recovery of patients pre/post interventional cardiac procedures
• Management of patients with vascular closure devices, including application, maintenance, and removal
• Maintenance and retrieval of arterial and/or venous sheaths
• Operation of ACT machines
• Use of Angioseal and Vasoseal devices
• Administration of minimal and moderate sedation, following safety guidelines
• Assistance with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), including "Bubble" method as required
• Pain management with follow-up pain reassessment
• Blood draws and proper order-of-the-draw for laboratory tests
• IV therapy management including infusion of blood and blood products
• Synchronized cardioversion
• Care associated with ICDs and Pacemakers (both temporary and permanent)

Procedural Area Responsibilities:

• Comprehensive assessment and reassessment of patients, employing the nursing process.
• Demonstrate competency with various procedures and equipment, including:
• Care and recovery of patients pre/post electrophysiology procedures
• Support in interventional radiology procedures
• Assist with vascular procedures, including IVC filters and angioplasty for acute and chronic occlusions
• Assist with peripheral balloon and stent placements
• Support thermodilution and invasive monitoring
• Assist in IVUS procedures and FFR procedures
• Participate in electrophysiology procedures
• Assistance with RF and Cryoablations
• Support insertion and maintenance of intra-aortic balloon pumps
• Participate in implantation of Loop Recorders
• Assist with Spectranetics Laser procedures
• Monitor and manage anaphylactic reactions, utilizing an anaphylactic kit as required
• MAC Lab System monitoring

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Active RN license required.
• Current certifications in CPR, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and EKG required.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required; 5 years preferred.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Schedule Details

• 36/48-hour work week with shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM.
• Contract duration of 10 weeks.
