Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our dynamic team. This position will primarily involve working day shifts, with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week from 07:00 to 19:00. The ideal candidate will possess a Washington license and be ready to contribute to providing exceptional care in our diverse patient setting.

Responsibilities

• Float between units as needed, providing respiratory care across various departments.
• Engage in floor care, emergency response, and rapid response duties.
• Assess and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage oxygen therapy for patients of all ages.
• Perform aerosol treatments using various medication delivery systems, including metered-dose inhalers and nebulizers.
• Administer medications like Albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, and others as prescribed.
• Manage ventilator support, including BiPAP and CPAP, and assist with weaning patients from mechanical ventilation.
• Conduct airway management procedures including extubation, tracheostomy care, and suctioning.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• Current Washington state license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications preferred.
• Two years of experience in a similar setting preferred; teaching hospital and Level I trauma experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with special equipment including Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Trilogy, and LTV1250 preferred.

Work Environment

The facility is a Short Term Acute Care hospital with a total of 629 staffed beds, including a Level II Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. Our patient population includes adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

Schedule

• Day shifts, 3x12 hour blocks (07:00 - 19:00).
• Every other weekend required.
• Block scheduling is in place.
