Position Details
We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience to join our team. This role includes working in a fast-paced environment, primarily in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with an emphasis on Level III and IV care.

- Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) or Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)
- Scheduling Type: Other
- Float Required: Yes (internal between departments)
- Weekend Coverage: Required every other weekend
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a NICU level III or IV unit is required.
- Current Washington state Respiratory Care license is mandatory.
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT, RRT, NRP, PALS.
- Preferred experience in Trauma Level I or II settings.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Proficient in the care of patients with conditions such as ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, and COVID-19.
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric procedures and equipment:
- Assist in high-risk delivery
- Bubble CPAP, High-frequency jet ventilators, and Pressure/Volume Ventilators
- Direct Intubation (Neonatal) and Intubation Assist
- Ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and high-frequency oscillators.
- Expertise in drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs).
- Knowledgeable in airway management devices and procedures, including extubation and tracheostomy care.
Patient Care and Support
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including IV teams, Physical Therapy, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Work Environment
- Daily census of approximately 300 patients with a total capacity of 337 beds.
- Staff is considered VAR (variable shift) for the unit, ensuring adaptability to various scheduling needs.
Orientation
New hires will participate in a comprehensive orientation program lasting 40 hours to ensure they are well-prepared for their role.
