Description
Position: Pediatric/Neonatal Critical Care Transport RN
Location: Seattle, WA
Shift Information:
- Schedule: 3x12 Nights (19:00 - 07:00)
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
About the Role:
This position is for a Pediatric/Neonatal Transport Registered Nurse. The primary responsibilities include collaborating with a transportation team consisting of respiratory therapists and advanced practice providers to safely transport infants and pediatric patients from various facilities, such as emergency departments, NICUs, and labor and delivery units, to a specialized care center in Seattle.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in ground transportation of pediatric and neonatal patients.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams during patient transport.
- Utilize specialized transport equipment effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health protocols throughout the transportation process.
- Provide high-quality nursing care during transport.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Registered Nurse, preferably with previous Pediatric Transport experience.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Skills:
- Administer emergency medications, including anti-seizure medications and IV vasopressors
- Perform Pediatric dosage calculations
- Manage respiratory therapies and ventilator support
- Conduct assessments and care for ventilated patients
- Insertion and management of IVs and urinary catheters
- Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias
Work Environment:
The position involves working in diverse clinical settings, including NICU, PICU, and pediatric units. The role may include floating to cover nursing needs in these departments as required.
Additional Information:
- No call is required for this position.
- 36 hours of orientation will be provided.
- Required to float to NICU, PICU, and pediatric units as necessary.
