Qualifications:

• Active WA nursing license
• Current ACLS and BLS/BCLS certifications

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify patient and family educational needs, providing education through appropriate modalities.
• Ensure patient safety through preventive measures, including the correct use of side rails, restraints, and equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the safe operation of equipment in the PCU, Telemetry, and MedSurg areas.
• Utilize troubleshooting techniques and follow proper procedures for repair of essential equipment, accessing manuals as needed.
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures while adhering to documentation requirements.
• Utilize standard precautions consistently.
• Maintain complete, accurate documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and responses during shifts.
• Document charges accurately and ensure timely completion of physician orders.
• Conduct a 24-hour check of orders as required by the assigned shift.
• Provide a thorough change of shift report to oncoming staff.
• Communicate effectively and accurately with other departments.
• Report critical lab values to physicians promptly according to established policy.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, rooms, and general supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
