Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Shift Details:

• Days: 7 AM Start
• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours, 36 hours per week
• Holiday Rotation: Yes
• Weekend Requirements: Every third weekend

Unit Information:

• ICU:
  • Beds: 5 ICU, 3 Stepdown
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2, occasionally 1:3 depending on overflow
  • Patient Types: Ventilated patients, BiPAP, Airvo, bariatric surgery, general surgery
  • Infusion Drips: Propofol, Levofed, Diltiazem, Insulin, Heparin
• Med Surg Unit:
  • Bed Size: 23
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Patient Types: Bariatric surgery, orthopedic cases, general medical-surgical patients
  • Infusion Drips: Heparin

Requirements:

• Minimum of 24 months of recent and relevant ICU experience
• Experience in Med Surg is strongly encouraged, as there may be a requirement to float between units
• Comfortable providing care for 3-5 patients
• Current or recent travel experience in nursing is required
• Experience with the EPIC electronic medical record system is mandatory
• Active certifications in PALS and TNCC are required
• NIHSS certification is preferred but can be obtained during onboarding
• Active Iowa state license or compact/multistate license required

Certification Requirements:

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency)
• NIHSS certification is preferred
