Description
Position: Radiologic Technologist - Interventional
Shift: Monday through Friday daytime hours with on-call requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cath lab/Interventional Radiology experience is preferred
- A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
- NYS license/registration
- One year of CT/MRI experience as a radiologic technologist is required
Job Responsibilities:
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic examinations under the supervision of departmental radiologists. Key responsibilities include:
- Greeting patients and explaining the examinations they are about to undergo
- Positioning patients and setting the appropriate exposure factors to obtain high-quality radiographs
- Practicing appropriate radiation safety and protection to ensure minimal radiation exposure for patients
- Operating imaging equipment efficiently and effectively to produce quality studies
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions to the immediate supervisor
- Processing films and inputting information into the Radiology Information System for documentation and billing needs
- Adhering to department procedures and protocols as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manual
This position is primarily focused on providing radiologic examinations based on the needs of referring physicians and radiologists.
