Description
Position: Cytotechnologist Traveler
We are seeking a dedicated Cytotechnologist Traveler to join our team. This position involves reading PAP and non-GYN slides, along with responsibilities in molecular testing on PAP vials and specimen grossing.
General Objectives:
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in all facets of cytology processing, preparation, and staining.
- Screen an average of 40 to 80 slides per day.
- Assist in specimen collection as required.
- Maintain computerized patient records accurately.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate from an ABHES-accredited school of cytotechnology or a program approved by Health and Human Services, or meet the qualifications set by CAP for Cytotechnologists.
- Cytotechnologist CT (ASCP registration) is required.
- An associate degree is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Cytotechnologist.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the cytotechnology department.
- Ability to screen an average of 60 to 80 slides per day, adhering to limits set by CAP and the Pathologist.
- Consistently align diagnoses within one grade of Pathologist or Consultant diagnosis.
Shift Information:
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5-8 hour shifts.
Holiday Coverage:
No holiday coverage required.
