Position: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Location: Columbus, OH

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team for night shifts. This role is vital in providing respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients in various settings, including critical care and emergency departments. Your expertise will contribute to the management and treatment of patients with respiratory conditions such as COPD and asthma.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed respiratory therapies and manage ventilator settings.
• Perform aerosol therapy, including setup and administration of medication via devices such as metered dose inhalers and nebulizers.
• Conduct patient assessments, including the interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Provide airway management and pulmonary hygiene techniques.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care.
• Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred.
• Current Ohio State License.
• High School Diploma and college transcripts required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a respiratory therapy role.

Skills

Preferred skills include:

• Experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings.
• Familiarity with ventilator management, including BiPAP and CPAP.
• Ability to troubleshoot high-pressure alarms and wean patients from mechanical ventilation.
• Proficient in medication delivery systems and various inhaled therapies.

Additional Information

Weekend shifts are required as part of the schedule. Travelers may be required to float between campuses as necessary. The facility supports a variety of patient diagnoses and uses advanced equipment including GE Ventilators and Hamilton Ventilators.
