Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Operating Room (OR) to join our surgical services team. This role involves working with a variety of surgical procedures and tests across multiple specialties, providing care for both elective and life-saving operations.
Shift Details
- 10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Call responsibilities for weekends and holidays
- Weekend call requirements include:
- Day call on weekends: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Saturday and Sunday)
- Night call on weekends: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
- One weeknight of call required (Monday-Thursday) from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- One weekend on-call each month, rotating between day and night shifts
Job Responsibilities
The RN in this role will be expected to:
- Assist in various surgical procedures across different specialties, including orthopedic, general, endovascular, urgent care, and obstetrics.
- Provide high-quality patient care and support during pre-operative and post-operative phases.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthetists, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations within the operating room environment.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room is required.
- Experience in orthopedic, general, endovascular, urgent care, or obstetrics specialties is preferred.
- Current Michigan RN license verification is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.

Additional Information
- Initial training includes a non-billable orientation period.
- Hospital-provided scrubs are required as part of the dress code.
Attendance Policy
Please note that a strict attendance policy is in effect. Any RN contractor who is absent from a scheduled shift or arrives more than 20 minutes late three times may face termination. Exceptions will be reviewed based on documentation of illness or hospitalization.
