Job Summary

The position ensures that the correct medication is administered to patients, focusing on the clinical appropriateness of the medication and proper product delivery.

Job Responsibilities

• Interpret and, when necessary, clarify orders or prescriptions written by physicians and other authorized practitioners, intervening as clinically appropriate.
• Ensure that prescriptions are filled according to recognized professional standards, as well as state and federal laws, and departmental policies.
• Engage in communication with patients to provide necessary prescription counseling and educational activities as required by law.
• Maintain accurate documentation of controlled substances as required by the pharmacy department and governing regulatory agencies.
• Oversee and supervise technical staff during medication distribution activities.
• Maintain a general knowledge of order and prescription processing procedures.
• Prepare, supervise, and verify the preparation of compounded products.
• Prepare and execute all pharmacy-related documents and reports to meet regulatory requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a pharmacist.

Education

Required Education

• Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Pharmacy
• OR Pharm.D. in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university.

• Licensed as a Pharmacist in New York State or possess a NYS internship permit.

Schedule Notes

Retail pharmacy positions available for a 40-hour work week, with shifts scheduled Monday through Friday between 7 am and 9 pm (mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts). Weekend shifts available Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 7 pm (mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts).

Experience with EPIC/WAM is preferred.
