Position Overview

This position involves planning and providing total patient care by utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs. The role also includes directing and guiding patient education and managing the activities of ancillary personnel while upholding the standards of professional nursing.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current Registered Nurse license in Iowa
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
• Experience is preferred, but not mandatory

Work Schedule

This is a full-time night shift position, comprising of 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

Workdays will include rotating weekends and holidays, requiring holiday coverage.

Employment & Health Requirements

The following items must be provided by the candidate prior to the contract start date:

• Resume
• Two recent employment references
• Online verification of licensure or certification, including expiration date and any disciplinary actions
• Proof of BLS & ACLS certifications (must be American Heart Association certified)
• All applicable certification copies (i.e., ACLS, TNCC, PALS, NRP)
• Immunization records, including:
• MMR (2 doses or positive titers)
• Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccinations)
• Polio
• Hepatitis B Series (titer or signed declination)
• Current TDaP (within 10 years of start date)
• Flu vaccination (required during flu season from October to March)
• Negative 2-step Mantoux test or QuantiFERON Gold (within 1 year of start date)
• If Mantoux test is positive, proof of positive and chest x-ray results
• Proof of physical examination (within 1 year of start date)
• 10 Panel Drug Screen (within 1 month of start date)
• Respiratory Fit Test (within 1 year of start date, can be provided if not available)
• Criminal Background Check (including all states where licensure is held and locations lived/worked in the past 7 years)
• National & State Sex Offender Registry check
• GSA (EPLS) sam.gov check
• OIG check
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (for Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse)
• Completion of CareLearning education modules (further instructions will be provided)
