Description
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for performing all aspects of sleep disorders testing in accordance with established policies and procedures. The technician will perform various protocols for sleep disorders testing, including setting up and monitoring patients for a duration of ten to twelve hours. Duties include operating and troubleshooting sleep lab equipment independently, administering therapies as directed by physicians, scoring and evaluating polysomnograms, and providing education to outreach accounts and interested groups regarding sleep disorders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school for respiratory care or nursing.
- Montana Licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 24 months of experience in sleep disorder testing, with a preference for routine EEG experience.
- Self-directed individual capable of acting independently under minimal supervision.
Essential Job Functions:
- Set up and monitor sleep disorder tests.
- Assist and educate patients regarding sleep disorder diagnosis, equipment, and treatment.
- Score and evaluate polysomnograms as required.
- Act as primary contact for physicians, patients, and outreach accounts, providing diagnostic information and consultation.

- Self-directed, with the ability to complete assignments accurately and thoroughly with minimal oversight.
Schedule Requirements:
This role requires regular and sustained attendance and may involve working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and night shifts.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Maintaining a sitting posture for extended periods.
- Ability to stand and walk repeatedly within the work area.
- Occasional climbing, twisting, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Frequent fine finger movements and close visual acuity for data analysis.
- Ability to learn new tasks, maintain focus, and complete tasks independently.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, and emotionally challenging situations.
Shift Information:
3 x 12-hour night shifts, scheduled consecutively.
Holiday Coverage:
Holiday coverage is required.
Minimum Years of Experience:
Less than 1 year of experience required.
Certifications/Requirements:
- BLS/BCLS certification.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential.
