Description
Position: Registered Nurse - Mother Baby (Full-Time, Night Shift)
The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. This role includes responsibilities for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, as well as patient and family education. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of labor and delivery.
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and transitioning patients as necessary. The role also requires flexibility to assist in other departments as needed.
Essential Job Functions
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and situations.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and issues.
- Identify expected outcomes and develop personalized care plans.
- Implement plans of care effectively to achieve desired outcomes.
- Foster a safe and health-promoting environment.
- Continuously enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities for self and peers.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and others to ensure quality care.
- Integrate ethical principles in all nursing practices.
- Apply research findings to improve nursing practice.
- Demonstrate leadership within the professional setting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Montana Registered Nurse licensure.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- STABLE certification within two years of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; recertification required every two years.
- Capable of practicing modified primary nursing.

- Experience in labor and delivery (antepartum, intrapartum, preoperative, circulating, PACU).

Schedule Requirements
The position requires regular attendance and may involve working beyond the standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and perform various physical activities.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to climb, twist, bend, stoop, and kneel as required by job duties.
- Frequent hand coordination for tasks involving fine finger movements.
- Close visual acuity for analyzing data and reading documentation.
- Cognitive skills to learn new tasks, maintain focus, and make timely decisions.
Exposures
This role may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and infectious diseases. Employees will also encounter emotionally challenging situations.
