Position: Radiation Therapy Technician

Location: New York, NY

Shift Details:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
• Shift Length: 8 Hours

Position Overview:

The Radiation Therapy Technician is a vital member of the cancer services and oncology team, responsible for administering radiation therapy treatments to patients. This position requires strong technical skills, a cooperative attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience in Radiation Therapy
• NYS Radiologic Technologists Therapy License is required
• Certifications: ARRT T, BLS
• Experience with Ethos or Varian equipment is preferred

Responsibilities:

• Administer external beam radiation therapy, including IMRT - Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy
• Perform tumor localization and treatment planning using software systems such as Pinnacle or Eclipse
• Utilize various treatment aids such as custom molds, shields, and wedges for patient care
• Calculate radiation doses and maintain accurate treatment documentation
• Adhere to safety and isolation precautions, using appropriate PPE
• Participate in the use of Rapid Response/Code teams as required

Skills:

• Experience with imaging techniques such as CBCT, kV, and mV imaging
• Proficient in using lift and transfer devices
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing workloads and priorities
• Dependable, punctual, and flexible in work assignments

Work Environment:

This position will involve working within adult acute care settings, specifically in pretreatment areas. The candidate should be prepared to float to other radiation oncology locations as needed.
