Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical care to join our team on a Night Shift. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience and will be proficient in various nursing competencies.
Position Details
- Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
- Patient Ratio: Days: 1:6, Nights: 1:6, Weekends: 1:5
- Float Requirement: Yes
- Weekend Coverage: Every Other
- Orientation Hours: 24
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in medical surgical nursing
- Charting System: Experience with Epic preferred
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS preferred
- Community Hospital Experience: Preferred
- Travel Experience: Not required
Nursing Skills Required
- IV therapy/Phlebotomy
- Blood Product Administration
- Management of Ports
- PICC line management
- Management of gastrointestinal and respiratory conditions
- Pre/Postoperative care for thoracic and bariatric surgeries
- Tracheostomy care and management
- CVA and Substance Withdrawal management
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Wound care, including Wound Vac management
Work Environment
This position will take place in a 36-bed medical surgical unit, caring for adults and geriatric patients with a range of diagnoses, such as:
- Diabetes
- Dementia
- COVID-19
- Pneumonia
- COPD
- Sepsis
- Gastrointestinal bleeding
- Renal failure
- Hypertension
- Various surgical recovery cases
