Position: Radiation Therapist

Location: Wilmington, NC Coastal Region

Shift Details:

• Day 5x8: 08:00 - 17:30
• Day 4x10: 07:00 - 17:30
• Flexible shift scheduling based on departmental needs, including options for 9:00 - 18:00 on select days.

Job Overview:

This position involves providing care as a Radiation Therapist at a busy facility with multiple Varian linear accelerators (True Beam, Halcyon, and 21iX) and a Siemens CT simulator. This role is suitable for professionals with at least 1 year of experience, including first-time travelers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide treatment for various cancer types, including but not limited to prostate cancer, benign brain tumors, and stereotactic radiosurgery.
• Utilize equipment such as ARIA, TrueBeam, and Vision RT for patient treatments.
• Assist in performing procedures with adherence to radiation safety protocols.
• Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals, including MDs and RNs, throughout the workday.
• Float between two clinical sites as needed to meet patient care requirements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
• Required Certifications:
  • ARRT T (Radiation Therapy)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with adult outpatient settings.
  • Proficiency in IMRT, beam modifying/positioning, and CBCT/kV/mV imaging.

Work Environment:

• Average daily patient census: 110 patients across 3 linacs and one CT simulator.
• The role requires the use of isolation precautions and adherence to PPE protocols.
• Ongoing opportunities to collaborate with interdisciplinary support services.

Additional Information:

• Orientation hours: 8 hours.
• Scrubs: Royal Blue (not provided).
• RTO (Requests for Time Off): Maximum 7 days allowed after booking.
• No weekend or holiday shifts required.
