Position: Sonographer - Cardiac Specialty

We are seeking a qualified Sonographer specializing in cardiac ultrasound to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic examinations in the Ultrasound department, ensuring efficiency in line with physician orders. This role involves close collaboration with patients, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel.

Shift Details

• Tuesday to Friday: 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• 40-hour work week guarantee

Weekend Requirements

Must be available to work every Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Job Responsibilities

• Complete diagnostic studies promptly and efficiently, utilizing downtime to assist team members.
• Verify exam charges and the five-day late list on a daily basis for the ultrasound department.
• Organize workload during peak times to enhance patient care, communicating any pending exams and relevant information to colleagues.
• Assist physicians during radiology procedures as needed.
• Foster positive relationships within the department, addressing concerns with the supervisor and representing the department positively among staff.
• Maintain inventory levels of supplies and devise new methods for their utilization.
• Handle equipment securely in accordance with established guidelines and policies, ensuring a clean and organized work area.
• Participate in emergency call-back by adhering to the "on-call" policy.
• Support procedures in any radiology area when required, checking in with coworkers during downtime.
• Adhere to attendance and punctuality policies.
• Comply with the dress code and appearance policies.
• Attend all required hospital and departmental meetings and in-service training.
• Follow safety and infection control protocols diligently.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Equipment Used

• 3 Philips CVX Epiq machines
• 1 Philips Elites Epiq machine
• Vasculab ABI machine

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sonographer.
• Required experience in both Echo and Vascular procedures.
• Ability to perform Echocardiograms with Definity Contrast.
• Competence in conducting various echocardiography and vascular studies, including TTE, TEE, stress echo, venous reflux exams, venous dopplers, carotid doppler, arterial doppler, ABI, pericardiocentesis, thrombin injections, and vein mapping exams.
• Capable of starting IVs independently.
• Familiarity with MediTech EMR.
• Active ARDMS certification and current American Heart Association BLS certification.
