Job Opportunity

Position: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Type: Full-Time (0.9 FTE, Variable Shift)
Location: City, State

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides high-quality care in collaboration with healthcare team members. This role includes planning and implementing patient and family education, assessing patient needs, and initiating appropriate interventions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider certification (recertification required every 2 years)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring Series Certificate or equivalent AWHONN approved course (not required if a Lactation RN; FHM recertification required every 2 years)
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (not required if a Lactation RN)
  • Competence in and willingness to practice modified primary nursing
  • Completion of two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education
  • If Lactation RN, certification in lactation consulting/counseling (CLC, IBCLC)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in labor and delivery

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collect comprehensive data related to the patient’s health or situation (Assessment)
  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis)
  • Identify expected outcomes and develop individualized plans of care
  • Implement identified plans of care to ensure appropriate patient treatment
  • Promote health and maintain a safe environment for patients
  • Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice systematically
  • Maintain current knowledge and competency that reflects contemporary nursing practice
  • Evaluate nursing practice in relation to professional standards, guidelines, and regulations
  • Contribute to the professional development of colleagues
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and team members in nursing practice
  • Integrate ethical provisions into all areas of practice
  • Incorporate research findings into nursing practice
  • Provide leadership in professional practice settings

  • Demonstrates sound judgment and maintains a professional demeanor at all times
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy and stressful environment
  • Strong problem analysis and decision-making skills
  • Ability to adapt to varied shifts

Schedule Requirements:

This role requires regular attendance with the expectation of working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours as necessary.

  • Cognitive Skills (Continuously): Ability to learn, remember processes, and make timely decisions within workflow
  • Exposures (Continuously): Risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
