Position: Registered Nurse - PCU Float

Shift Information:

• Shift Type: Night (3x12-Hour, 19:00 - 07:30)
• Float Requirement: Yes (may require floating to different units within the organization as needed)
• Patient Ratios:
  • Days: 1:3
  • Nights: 1:3
  • Weekends: 1:3

Qualifications:

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years, including 1 year of solid step-down/PCU experience
• Previous Charge Experience: Preferred
• Travel Experience: Not required
• Certifications:
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NIHSS

Skills:

• IV Therapy/Phlebotomy - preferred
• Blood Product Administration
• Central and Peripheral Line Care/Management
• PICC Line Management
• Respiratory Management (BiPAP/CPAP, Chest Tubes, HFNC)
• Tracheostomy Care/Management
• Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response
• Isolation Precautions/PPE
• Wound Care/Wound Vac
• Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management
• IV Insulin Protocols
• Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias

Work Environment:

• Areas of Expertise: PCU, DOU, IMC, Stepdown, Telemetry, Gastrointestinal
• Patient Age Groups: Adults and Geriatrics
• Daily Census: Not applicable
• Interdisciplinary Support: IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary
• Patient Diagnoses: All diagnoses
• Special Procedures: Step-down and PCU-type patients
