Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Operating Room to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a hospital or medical center environment, with a focus on precision and patient care in surgical settings.

Shift Details

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Shift Type: 4x10s with rotating days off
• Holiday Rotation: Availability required for 1-2 of the three upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
• Weekend On-Call Requirements: Call from Friday at 5:00 PM to Monday at 6:30 AM, up to 1 overnight/week and 3 weekends within a 13-week contract

Unit Information

• Bed Size: 16 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Average Caseload: 35-50 cases per day, with expectations for turnovers less than 20 minutes
• Special Equipment: Includes 3 Davinci robots and Stealth technology for neuro navigation
• Operating Room Suites: 16 ORs, typically running 12-14 routinely
• Service Lines: Cardiac/PV, Neuro, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Robotics, Gyn, Uro, General, Pediatrics, and Transplants
• Scrubbing and Circulating: Both roles preferred

Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of current operating room experience
• Circulating and operating room experience required
• Scrub experience is highly preferred
• Experience in General, Davinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma cases required
• Preferred additional experience in Neurology, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Gynecology, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, ENT, and Vascular
• Proficient with EPIC electronic medical systems within the past 3 years
• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center is highly preferred
• Experience in a Level II Trauma Center is required
• No first-time travelers; must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months

Licensure and Credentials

• Active Iowa or Compact/Multistate nursing license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC/AMERICAN RED CROSS
