Job Opportunity

Position: Neuro ICU Travel Nurse

Location: [City, State]

Shift:

• Day: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
• Night: 3x12-Hour (19:30 - 07:30)
• Rotational shifts every 4 weeks
• Every other weekend coverage

Patient Care Ratios:

• Day Shift: 1:2
• Night Shift: 1:2
• Weekend Shifts: 1:2

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Neuro ICU
• Preferred experience in a teaching hospital
• Preferred experience in a Trauma Level I facility
• Travel experience is required; first-time travelers will be screened

Certifications Required:

• BCLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS (AHA certifications only)

Required Skills:

• IV therapy management
• Telemetry monitoring
• Ventilator management
• Intracranial pressure monitoring

Preferred Skills:

• Accessing and managing ports
• Arterial line management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care and management
• PICC line management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Care of ventilated patients
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) management
• Continuous IV sedation
• Emergency medications and procedural sedation administration
• Neurological monitoring and management
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Work Environment:

This position is in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit, providing critical care to patients with complex neurological conditions. The patient population may include individuals with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, seizures, neuromuscular diseases, infections, and post-operative neurosurgery patients.

In this role, you will perform bedside procedures, including:

• Tracheostomy
• Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG)
• Central line and arterial line placements
• External ventricular drain (EVD) placement
