Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify patient needs and establish priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate personalized care plans for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiate assessments based on patients’ problems or needs, physician diagnoses, and functional health frameworks.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions to enhance patient well-being.
• Manage overall care of patients, ensuring high standards of practice are followed.
• Document care provided according to established standards and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of innovations in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centered care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.
• Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related specialty.

Education

Required Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Certifications & Licensure

Required Certifications

• BLS certified (Basic Life Support) - AHA.
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• PALS certified (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
• Telemetry certification.

Preferred Certifications

• None specified.

Schedule

• Shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week.
• Every other weekend required.
• 3 holidays required.
• Floating district with Pediatrics, NICU, and Pediatric holding in the ER.
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue.

Experience Requirement

1-2 years of Pediatric ICU experience is required for this role.
