Description
Position: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multiple surgical specialties, including Orthopedics, Robotics, and General Surgery.
Shift Details
- Type: Day Shift - 3x12 Hour (06:30 - 19:00)
- Call Requirement: Yes, maximum of 10 calls per 12-week schedule
- Weekend Shifts: Call only (24-hour coverage on Saturday or Sunday)
Patient Care
The RN will provide high-quality surgical care to diverse patient age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily patient census includes 20-30 surgeries across 10 operating rooms.
Job Responsibilities
- Circulate surgical procedures in various specialties:
- Orthopedics (Trauma, Joints, Sports Medicine, Shoulders)
- Gynecology
- Plastics
- Urology
- ENT
- Monitor patients during conscious sedation as required.
- Assist in the operation of advanced surgical systems, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and MAKO system.
- Float between the Operating Room and Outpatient Surgical Centers as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) - Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Preferred
- Skills:
- Experience with conscious sedation monitoring - Preferred
- Scrub experience in multiple surgical settings - Required
- Epic software experience - Required
Interdisciplinary Support
The RN will collaborate with various interdisciplinary teams, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
