Position Summary

The Charge Nurse plays a vital role in the nursing leadership team and is responsible for providing on-site nursing services and supervision during specific work shifts. This position includes performing delegated administrative functions, implementing current nursing care standards, and interpreting hospital policies for employees, patients, families, physicians, and other stakeholders. Successful Charge Nurses utilize leadership and communication skills, along with conflict resolution, time management, organizational techniques, delegation, mentorship, education, and role modeling to achieve their objectives. They act as effective change agents to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State RN License.
• Previous experience in Med/Surg and Emergency Room settings, along with Charge Nurse experience.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.

Shift Information

Day shift: 7:00 am - 7:30 pm; 12-hour shifts. Rotating days, including some weekends.

Holiday Coverage

Holiday coverage is required for this position.

Minimum Years of Experience

2 years of nursing experience is required.

Certifications and Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS/BCLS certification
• PALS certification
