Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Electrophysiology (EP) Lab team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrophysiology procedures and is comfortable administering conscious sedation during procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct electrophysiology procedures including arrhythmia induction, cardiac ablation, and cardiac mapping.
• Perform the insertion and programming of implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (AICDs) and pacemakers.
• Prepare patients for procedures by performing baseline measurements and monitoring vital signs.
• Assist with special procedures such as left atrial appendage closure, lead extraction, and the use of laser for procedures.
• Maintain a sterile environment and ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in an electrophysiology lab or related field.
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS are required; CCI RCES and CCI RCIS are preferred.
• Familiarity with charting systems, particularly Epic (CUPID), is essential.
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary support teams.

Work Environment

The position is within an Electrophysiology Lab with an average daily census of 15 cases. The role requires flexibility to manage patient flow and support scheduling as needed.

Orientation and Training

Orientation Duration: 30 hours

Additional Information

Contract staff may be assigned to special teams as required by circumstances such as catastrophic events or mass casualties. All team members are expected to fulfill responsibilities effectively, including overtime if necessary.
