Position: Radiology Technologist - Acute Care
Shift Information: Noon to Midnight Shift
Position Summary
The Acute Care Radiology Technologist provides essential healthcare services by performing X-Ray procedures to assist in diagnosis or treatment. This role involves producing images for the interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalent.
- Montana Licensure (Radiology Technologist).
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) R.T.(R).
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- One (1) year of previous radiology experience, which may include clinical internship experience.
- Demonstrated competency in advanced imaging techniques including fluoroscopic/C-Arm in the OR, trauma, and portable radiography within 6 months, including services to NICU, CCU, and ED.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform radiographic exams as requested by healthcare providers.
- Conduct fluoroscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures alongside radiology providers.
- Perform ultrasound-guided paracentesis, thoracentesis, and arthrocentesis with radiology providers.
- Educate patients regarding preparation and post-care for radiology procedures.
- Assist radiology nursing staff with fluoroscopically guided PICC placements.
- Conduct C-Arm fluoroscopy exams in the operating room as requested by surgeons.
- Complete documentation necessary for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
- Fulfill ancillary duties required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures.
- Retrieve written orders and related health information.
- Participate in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of hospital quality indicators.
- Educate radiography students, new hires, and radiology technologists on relevant diagnostic and operative guidance exams.

- Works varied shifts as scheduled and/or needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull weights up to 50 pounds for patient assistance and equipment handling.
- May require sitting, walking, or standing for extended periods, typically eight hours or more daily.
- Flexibility to work beyond standard hours, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
Exposures
Tasks may involve exposure to:
- Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
- Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed.
- Chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings.
- Infectious diseases due to patient contact in areas with contagious illnesses.
- Emotionally challenging situations, such as interactions with distressed patients or families.
Note: The facility reserves the right to cancel three (3) shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances.
