Description
Position: Dietitian
Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric experience
- Minimum of two years of experience in Inpatient or Critical Care
- CNSC Certification
Job Responsibilities
The Inpatient Dietitian will provide Medical Nutrition Therapy and perform nutrition assessments for patients across all age groups, including infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Responsibilities include:
- Assessing nutritional status and identifying malnutrition through the Malnutrition Screening Tool.
- Implementing diagnoses, interventions, and monitoring strategies to enhance nutrition status, lower medical costs, and reduce length of stay.
- Utilizing physician or referring practitioner-driven protocols to initiate or modify dietary orders, which may include nutrition supplements, dietary adjustments, texture modifications, and nutrition education.
- Managing nutrition support therapies, including enteral and parenteral nutrition, based on patients' energy requirements and laboratory results.
- Participating in facility-wide and departmental Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs to enhance processes and patient care.
- Attending departmental meetings, engaging in staff development, conducting patient care rounds, and participating in professional programs.
