Hours: 48 hours per week

Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend and holidays as needed

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a specialization in Medical Surgical nursing to join our team for a dynamic travel assignment. The ideal candidate must possess the skills and experience necessary to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients on the Medical Surgical unit.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to various Medical Surgical units as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of current Medical Surgical nursing experience.
• Telemetry experience is required.
• Must complete a Basic Dysrhythmia course.
• Experience with Meditech Expanse is highly preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications are required.
• Must possess an active Massachusetts RN license.
• Personal scrubs of any color allowed.

Additional Information

The unit size ranges from 20 to 34 beds, with a typical patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6. Orientation will involve 8 hours of non-billable training.

Travelers must have their own vehicle and include a permanent address in their profiles. Availability for two major holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day) is required.
