Job Description

As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN), you will help provide the surgical team with the necessary support during procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the RN and surgical team with limited direct patient care.
• Managing instruments, supplies, and equipment used during surgical procedures.
• Maintaining an in-depth understanding of the surgical procedures and anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
• Setting up, maintaining, and protecting a sterile field throughout the procedure.
• Cleaning, preparing, and packaging instruments for disinfection and sterilization.
• Assisting with room turnover between cases, ensuring a clean and prepared environment for the next patient.
• Upholding patient safety standards and demonstrating required clinical competencies.
• Adhering to the Recommended Practices by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and departmental policies.
• Demonstrating effective time management, resource utilization, and supply management.
• Participating as a collaborative and supportive member of the healthcare team.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.
