Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides diagnostic and therapeutic treatment alongside physician assistance. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing patient education and family support that aligns with individual patient needs.
• Documenting patient care and significant changes in patient conditions, and taking appropriate actions.
• Communicating relevant information to caregivers effectively.
• Conducting pain assessments and administering care according to established protocols.
• Completing thorough documentation including order entries, electronic medical records (EMR), medication charting, and incident variance reports.
• Processing patient charges and generating necessary reports.
• Disassembling, cleaning, and maintaining respiratory equipment per standard operating procedures.
• Tracking and reporting equipment in need of maintenance or repair.
• Transporting infants to and from referral health systems.
• Delivering high-quality critical care in accordance with established patient care guidelines.
• Performing other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.

Certification Requirements

• Respiratory Therapist Certification from the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care (Prior to Start)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) (Prior to Start)
• ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) (Prior to Start)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) (Prior to Start)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (Prior to Start)
