Description
Position: Behavioral Health Inpatient Registered Nurse
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Behavioral Health. This role involves providing care to adult and geriatric patients within a structured inpatient setting.
Shift Details
- Day Shift: 3x12 Hour (06:45 - 19:15)
- Weekend Schedule: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
Patient Ratios
Days and Nights: 1:7
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a behavioral health setting
- Familiarity with Epic charting system
- Certifications: BLS, MOAB or CPI (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous charge experience
- Experience with mental health diagnoses, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, and substance use disorders
- Skills in medication administration and management
Core Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with various mental health diagnoses
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage treatment plans
- Utilize behavior management techniques, crisis intervention, and de-escalation methods
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and well-being
Unit Details
The Behavioral Health unit consists of 52 beds, distributed over two floors. Rotational responsibilities between these floors are expected, accommodating various acuities.
Interdisciplinary Support
The nursing team collaborates with physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and additional support teams to provide holistic care.
Special Equipment
We employ ObservSmart for patient monitoring, ensuring a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Orientation and Training
A comprehensive orientation of 32 hours will be provided, alongside hospital orientation in the first week.
Scrubs
Attire: Navy blue scrubs
