Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neuro Medicine unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in Medical-Surgical nursing and possess a strong focus on patient care and safety.
Key Details
- Location: City, State
- Shift: Night shift (3x12 hours, 18:45 - 07:15)
- Contract Length: 13-26 weeks
- Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant specialty
- Patient Ratios: 1:6-7 during days and nights
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Neuro Medicine setting
- Monitor and assess patient conditions
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC and SBAR communication techniques
- Adhere to isolation precautions and infection control procedures
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Experience with neurological and psychiatric nursing
- Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and emergency response
Preferred Qualifications
- NIHSS certification
- Experience in telemetry and general medicine, with a focus on neuro patients
- Charge nurse experience or willingness to learn
Work Environment
The nurse will work within a collaborative team, contributing to a supportive and efficient unit culture. Responsibilities will include adhering to patient safety protocols and maintaining effective communication with all team members. The patient's well-being is our top priority.

- Float requirements: Yes, travelers will float first
- Weekend coverage: Every other weekend (5-6 shifts per schedule)
- Pre-approved time off: None
- Orientation: 24 hours provided
- Scrubs: Not provided; navy blue required
