Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar environment, with the ability to navigate high-risk situations effectively.

Unit Information

• Labor and Delivery Unit
• Facility Births: 200-300 per month
• High-Risk Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, Teaching Hospital

Work Schedule

Night Shift: 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Responsibilities

• Attend all deliveries, including high-risk cases
• Circulate and assist with C-sections
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and manage pain relief including epidurals
• Conduct assessments and provide care for patients in labor and preterm labor situations
• Postpartum care and wound assessment
• Triage obstetrical patients and monitor fetal health

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
• Epic charting experience required
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS
  • FHM
  • NRP
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • ACLS (preferred)

Skills

• IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Medication administration, including anticoagulation therapy and insulin drips
• Management of central lines (CVC/PICC)
• Fetal monitoring, including use of IUPC

Work Environment

Ability to float as needed, including areas such as Post-Partum and NICU based on skill set.

• Blood products administration
• Cardioversion and defibrillation
• Use of cooling and warming blankets
• Care for drains and management of epidural and PCA pumps
• Wound vacs and medication administration for various therapies
