Position: Perioperative Registered Nurse

Location: Critical Access Hospital, City, State

Shift Information:

• Schedule: Day Shift, 5x8-Hour (06:30 - 15:00)
• Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd or 4th weekend, variable on rotation and time-off requests
• On-call Requirements: Yes, variable call on weekends and nights (8 shifts/month)

Position Details:

The Perioperative Registered Nurse will float between various surgical departments according to unit needs. Responsibilities include providing care in Pre-op, Operating Room (OR), and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), ensuring patient safety and satisfaction throughout their surgical journey.

Qualifications:

• Experience: At least 2 years as a Registered Nurse
• Charting System: Proficient in Epic
• Certifications:
  • ACLS, BLS - required
  • NIHSS - preferred
  • PALS - preferred
• Skills:
  • Gynecological Procedures such as Abdominal/Vaginal Hysterectomy and C-sections
  • General Surgery Procedures including Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, and Hernia Repair
  • Orthopedic Procedures such as Arthroscopy and Total Joint Replacement
  • Administration and Monitoring skills including IV insertion, blood product administration, and conscious sedation
  • Infection and Radiation Safety knowledge

Work Environment:

This position will involve working in various settings, including Ambulatory OR and General OR. The facility has a total of 22 beds and offers a comprehensive range of surgical services, including General Surgery, OBGYN, Orthopedics, ENT, and Dental.

Patient Care:

The RN will work with diverse patient age groups, including adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics, and will be responsible for managing patient care across different surgical stages, from preoperative assessment to postoperative recovery.
