Job Opportunity

Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Shift Information

Schedule: 6 days on, 8 days off (Wednesday through Monday) with a 36-hour guarantee.

Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients, either independently or under the consultation of a physician. The role includes administering medications, performing various therapeutic modalities, and conducting diagnostic testing for the cardio-pulmonary system. The therapist will also respond immediately to emergency situations and provide CPR and life support systems as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Evaluation and Treatment: Perform respiratory care to evaluate and treat patients according to established protocols.
  • Medication Administration: Deliver medications via aerosol and metered dose inhalers with precision.
  • Emergency Response: Immediately respond to all rapid responses, arrests, or special situations, while maintaining artificial airways, and providing respiration and cardiac compressions.
  • Oxygen Setup: Set up and maintain oxygen therapy according to established protocols.

  • Work History
  • Skills Checklist (current to within the last year), pertinent to Respiratory Therapy
  • Supervisory Reference Forms (2 completed within the last two years)
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Active American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Active Michigan state license
