Description
Position: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Unit: 23 North W&I Labor and Delivery
Location: City, State
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Travel Experience: Not Required
Requirements
- Years of Experience: 2 years in Labor and Delivery
- Charting System: Epic
- Certifications:
- ACLS (preferred)
- AWHONN Advanced (preferred)
- BLS (required)
- NCC C-EFM (acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
- NRP (required)
- Skills:
- IV therapy/Phlebotomy (preferred)
- Administration of blood and blood products
- Drawing venous blood
- Maintain central lines (CVC / PICC) (preferred)
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Use of infusion pumps/drips/IV monitoring
Work Settings
- Antepartum
- Labor & Delivery
- Neonatal Care in Delivery Room
- High Risk Antepartum
Patient Care Responsibilities
- Assess and support breastfeeding/lactation
- Perform episiotomy/incisional care
- Manage Foley catheter insertion and care
- Provide wound assessment and care
- Recover and manage patients post-Cesarean section
- Manage multiple births and postpartum hemorrhage care
- Labor and Delivery management, including circulating for C-sections
Patient Ratios
- Days: 1:1
- Nights: 1:1
Additional Requirements
- Will be required to float to different units within the organization as needed
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Pre-approved time off: 2 requests
- Orientation hours: 36
- Patient age groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults

- Level 4 Labor & Delivery unit with approximately 450 deliveries per month
- Epic experience required
- Previous travel experience preferred
