Description
Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health - Inpatient
Shift Details
Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Job Description
A Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while demonstrating compassion and integrity. The RN provides direction and oversight to both licensed and non-licensed staff, ensuring that the needs of patients are met with professionalism and excellence.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' care needs and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and continually reassess individualized care plans.
- Coordinate and provide nursing care to individuals and groups in collaboration with physicians.
- Educate patients and their families regarding care plans, including discharge and aftercare needs.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for both patients and staff within individual and group settings.
- Document, report, and verify necessary information in adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Monitor patient safety and report any potential risks to physicians to prevent adverse outcomes.
- Create a welcoming environment by adhering to quality improvement standards and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and external customers.
- Provide care in various clinical settings for diverse patient populations, implementing compassionate, patient-centered care tailored to specific needs.
- Serve as a clinical leader by delegating and coordinating staff assignments while promoting staff development.
- Utilize and review patient care protocols and standards of practice, contributing ideas for process improvement.
- Promote the efficient use of resources in patient care.
- May be involved in training direct care staff and overseeing medication management and physical health activities.
- Demonstrate professional appearance, attitude, and communication skills that reflect the organization's values.
- Provide holistic support—including spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical assistance—to patients.
- In a community residential setting, support and promote a recovery-focused and person-centered approach.
- Commit to upholding a compassionate and inclusive healing environment that resonates with the organization’s mission and values.
- Maintain current training and demonstrate competency in required program-specific training.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- May function as a lead nurse, overseeing other nursing staff as needed.
Additional Information
Applicants should have at least two years of experience in behavioral health and pediatric care. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of patients struggling with mental health challenges.
