Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for evaluating patient needs and assisting physicians with the delivery of patient care. The RN will plan, implement, and document nursing care based on the individual needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs and prioritize care through comprehensive assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate an individualized plan of care for assigned patients based on ongoing assessments.
• Initiate assessments aligned with patients' problems, physician diagnoses, and functional health frameworks.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions as necessary.
• Manage overall patient care effectively.
• Document care in adherence to established standards and patient acuity levels.
• Advocate for the integration of evidence-based practice care standards and support innovations in care delivery.
• Deliver patient-centric care consistent with the professional nursing practice model.
• Float to various units within competency as required.
• Work in the Cardiac Vascular & Post Surgical Stepdown Unit.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of prior experience as an RN in a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit within a major acute care hospital setting.
• Strong background in MS/Telemetry nursing.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience with ventilator management.
• Experience with post-cardiac surgery nursing care.
• Additional post-surgical nursing experience.

Required Hard Skills:

• Experience in neuro nursing.
• Proficiency in Epic charting system.

Education:

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• ACLS - AHA.
• NIHSS certification.
• BLS - AHA.
• CEU Contact Stroke - 4 Hours.
• Telemetry certification.
• New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.

Schedule Notes:

Shifts are from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, requiring three 12-hour shifts weekly. Weekend and holiday work may be necessary. Floating to other units may occur as needed.
