Position Title: Registered Nurse - Pacemaker Electrophysiology

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse - Pacemaker Electrophysiology plays a crucial role in supporting clinic providers and staff in delivering and coordinating patient care. This role is essential for facilitating patient satisfaction, clinic efficiency, and provider productivity. The nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with other healthcare team members. Additionally, the nurse provides education for patients and their families.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• One (1) year of registered nursing experience
• International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification
• Experience managing cardiac implantable electronic devices, including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs)
• Familiarity with major device platforms from manufacturers such as Biotronik, Medtronic, Abbott (formerly St. Jude Medical), and Boston Scientific
• Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia management and electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) interpretation

Essential Job Functions:

• Interrogate cardiac implantable electronic devices, monitor and document patient responses to device therapy, adjust settings as per provider orders, and manage device-related concerns.
• Coordinate follow-up care for patients utilizing services through the Device Clinic.
• Maintain device clinic databases and patient records for accurate documentation and continuity of care.
• Perform diagnostic tests and treatments ordered by the provider, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), event monitors, Holter monitors, and Zio Patch procedures.
• Coordinate surgical and procedural interventions associated with cardiac implantable electronic devices.
• Work collaboratively with radiology, surgical, anesthesia, and other interdisciplinary teams for patient interventions.
• Maintain examination and treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and adequate supply of equipment.
• Collaborate with providers to address urgent patient needs within the clinic.
• Educate patients and families about cardiac implantable electronic devices, arrhythmia management, and electrophysiology-related procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement and regulatory compliance initiatives to enhance patient care.

Schedule Requirements:

This role demands regular and consistent attendance. The position may require working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including potential weekend and after-hours shifts.
